About

Since 2002, Surale Phillips has helped communities throughout the U.S. with cultural and public art planning.  She’s also helped dozens of nonprofits of all sizes to use research to make informed decisions.

Her expertise brings a fresh perspective to applied research that builds stronger and more vibrant communities, more knowledgeable and better funded nonprofits, and more sustainable organizations.

Clients have included national, state, regional, and local cultural agencies; social service agencies and educational nonprofits; historic and heritage organizations; nonprofit service organizations; performing arts presenters; museums and art centers; theater, opera, and dance companies; and foundations and special projects. Surale regularly participates on team projects with partners such as the Cultural Planning Group, Lakota Group, and Mosaic. Surale leads Brand Research for DRMTM – a firm she co-founded, dedicated exclusively to building bold brands for arts and culture.

Surale is now a Principal with WolfBrown where she continues to serve arts and culture clients with the added benefit of access to special projects including Audience Outlook Monitor.
